yes the the constant re-alignment into new neighbourhoods or streets
is a real grind. so much energy goes into orienting oneself to those
minutiae of integration into each piece of the urban fabric - new
corner stores, new faces in the stairwell, new distributions of night
sounds, shifted trajectories to familiar places.
it always takes a certain time for the patterns to emerge that make life
run smoothly and that interim in which these small matters become
foregrounded takes a certain energy.
at the same time this very process is that adventure of everyday
existence which makes cities wonderful and the chance to redefine
routines and sets of relations through this reorientation can be a buzz too,
discovering new corner shops with cool characters
and new details in new walking paths...
may your suitcases manifest invisible flotation devices to ease the lugging
lots of love
